Our range of compliance services includes:

Statutory audits

A statutory audit is an audit that is required by a government agency and does not pertain to all businesses in the UK. For example,

Statutory audits are required specifically by institutions, such as banks, brokerage companies and insurance companies in the UK. It is a legally required review of the accuracy of a company’s (or government’s) financial records.

It is worth noting that UK registered companies may also be subject to statutory audits, so if you are unsure if your business is affected, then check with us to find out if your requirements are under UK GAAP and UK law.

The statutory audit is undertaken in order to ensure that an organisation is providing both an accurate and fair description of its financial position. We can help complete a statutory audit by looking at your information, such as your financial transactions, bank balances, bookkeeping record and other detail you may have. It is important that this is carried out, because those who do not comply with the regulations and are not compliant can be penalised.

Annual accounts

Your company’s annual accounts, also known as ‘statutory accounts’ - are prepared from the company’s financial records at the end of your company’s financial year. The annual account should include a balance sheet, profit and loss account, a directors report, notes about the account and possibly an auditor’s report – depending on the size of your company. Your annual accounts must also adhere to either the International Financial Reporting Standards or the UK Generally Accepted Accounting Practice The legal responsibility for making sure the annual accounts are completed accurately and to guidelines falls on the company directors. Payroll procedures including Real Time Information and Pensions Auto Enrolment compliance

The processing of payroll can be complicated and lead to errors occurring. This is where there needs to be a detailed process that incorporates numerous controls, ensuring that payroll is handled consistently on a repetitive basis. This includes Real Time Information.

The way you calculate PAYE is not changed by Real Time Information, but it does require you to make more regular submissions – which we can help with. This means that you need to submit PAYE information to HMRC every time you pay your employees, as opposed to just once a year at Payroll Year End.

The law on workplace pensions has changed. Under the Pensions Act 2008, every employer in the UK must put certain staff into a pension scheme and contribute towards it. We can help your company understand these implications and make sure that you are compliant with all the rules and regulations.
